William Scott "Scotty" McCarty

William Scott McCarty, 67, of Humphrey passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026, at his home.

Scotty was born Oct. 24, 1958, in Grand Prairie, Texas, to Jimmie and Margaret Pierce McCarty. He was a 1977 graduate of Stuttgart High School and attended Rice-Belt Vocational School in DeWitt. He was a farmer and land surveyor, and he and his wife were owners/operators of A&C Fish House in Humphrey. He was a member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Ellenberg.

Survivors are his wife of 43 years, Glenda McCarty; daughters, Cory (Tony) Anderson of Humphrey and Andrea (Drake) DePriest of Humphrey; brothers, Ronnie (Debbie) McCarty of Stuttgart and Danny (JoAnn) McCarty of Humnoke; sisters, Connie McCarty of Stuttgart and Loretta Covey of Humnoke; brother-in-law, Darrell Ellenberg of Stuttgart; three grandsons, Mackinley (Amberly) Anderson, Miles Anderson and Bentlee Canard, all of Humphrey; a great-granddaughter, Oakley Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, at Turpin Funeral Home.

Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Terry Taylor, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 7, at Turpin Funeral Home in Stuttgart.
