Shirley Jean Hansell Barger

Shirley Jean Hansell Barger, 85, of Brinkley passed away Friday, July 19, 2024, at Baptist Health-Springhill.

Mrs. Barger was born Jan. 17, 1939, in Humphrey to Thomas and Lola Hansell. She retired as general manager overseeing several E-Z Mart stores in this area. She was a Baptist.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jearl Barger; son, Tommy Hayley; granddaughter, November Little; sister, Pat Horowitz; and brother, Don Hansell.

Survivors are four children, Michael Barger (Pam) of Mountain Home, Alvin Barger (Deanna) of Vancouver, Wash., Maurie Alderson (David) of Almyra, and Renee Weaver (Randy) of Brinkley; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 12-2 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at Turpin Funeral Home with funeral services following at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorials be made to the Fallen Firefighters Association.
