It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Scottie Jean Persons, 62, of Stuttgart, Arkansas, who passed away on January 17, 2025, at her home.
Scottie was born on February 10, 1962, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, to Shirley and Scarler Lyons. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, sister, niece, and friend who lived her life by serving others. Scottie was known for preparing the best food, especially her macaroni and cheese and “old lady cake.”
Scottie was a retired nurse with 41 years of service and made a lasting impact on everyone around her. She cherished her family and friends, but most of all, she loved being Grammy to Jed Quimby and Suggie to Noah Lovelace. She will be remembered for always putting the needs of others before her own.
Scottie is survived by her husband, Rodney Persons; daughters Mallory Persons of Stuttgart and Morgan Persons of Conway; great-nephew Noah Lovelace of Stuttgart; and her beloved aunt Sally Tipton of Stuttgart, along with many dear friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Glenda Sipes.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Turpin Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20, at 10:00 a.m. at Turpin Funeral Home in Stuttgart, with burial to follow at Lone Tree Cemetery in Stuttgart.
Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Scottie’s life.
