Robert Hugh Shoemake, 77, of Stuttgart passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2025.
Robert was born Feb. 4, 1948, in Clarendon to Hugh and Willie Beavers Shoemake. He was a 1966 graduate of Stuttgart High School. Retiring as a Master Sergeant after 22 years with the U.S. Air Force, he returned to Stuttgart and was employed as a packing line poly machine operator at Producers Rice Mill. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbi DePriest; sister, Carol Harris; and two infant siblings.
Survivors are his wife, Marty Koch Shoemake; sons, Bobby Shoemake (Tori) of Mansfield, La., and John Shoemake of Florida; one daughter, Angelia Shadwick (Frank) of West Virginia; brother, Curtis Shoemake of Augusta, Ark.; brother-in-law, Wayne Harris of Pine Bluff; sister, Beverly Brown (Rick) of Austin, Texas; 12 grandchildren including Regan DePriest Holland (Tyler), Bailey DePriest Yarbrough (Greg) and Isaiah, Rowan, Cohen and Finn Shoemake; several great-grandchildren including Whitt Holland, Wyatt Hollland, Makenzie Yarbrough, Grayden Yarbrough and Garin Yarbrough; and special friends, Ken and Brenda Ainsworth of Stuttgart.
Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Don White at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with visitation prior to the service at 10 a.m. The burial service, officiated by Pastor Bob McCanless, will follow in Lone Tree Cemetery with full military honors by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
