Phyllis R. Ellenberg, 63, of Stuttgart passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Baptist Health-Stuttgart.

Phyllis was born July 22, 1960, in Stuttgart to Jimmie and Margaret Pierce McCarty who preceded her in death. She was a 1978 graduate of Stuttgart High School and was retired as a postal clerk with the U.S. Postal Service. After retirement, she worked at the Rice Research Center for several years. She was a member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing specials and was the children’s Sunday school teacher until her health declined. Phyllis was the leader of sarcasm and loved horses, genealogy, and anything outdoors. She enjoyed fishing but was an avid deer hunter.

Survivors are her husband of 36 years, Darrell Ellenberg; two sons, Craig Ellenberg and wife Bethany of Purcell, Okla., and Bradley Ellenberg and wife Shana of Stuttgart; brothers, Scotty (Glenda) McCarty, Ronnie (Debbie) McCarty and Danny (JoAnna) McCarty, all of Humphrey, Connie McCarty of Stuttgart and Loretta McCarty of Humnoke; and five grandsons, Evan, Collin, Aden, Noah and Jack.

Darrell and the family wish to offer their upmost appreciation to the staff of Baptist Health, Hospice Home Care and especially to Dr. Eddy Hord for their loving care of Phyllis during her illness.

Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Terry Taylor, are 2 p.m. Saturday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with burial following in Frazier Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Friday at Turpin Funeral Home.

Her family requests memorials be made to Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, 313 Roth Prairie Rd., Stuttgart, Ark. 72160.
