Nellie chose to write her own obituary with help from her long-time friend Hugh Redmon relative to her passing.

At this time I want to thank God for the many years he gave me living in this beautiful world that he created; for the wonderful parents who gently but steadfastly instilled the character and molding of my life for which I am eternally grateful; for Carl Gunter, my husband of 62 years for the happiness, love, and protection that he provided. We had three wonderful children, Rana Kerksieck, Sharon (Dennis) Seidenschwarz and Minday Gunter (who preceded me in death). We also had three delightful grandchildren, Libby (Chris) Atkinson, Ashley (Paxton) Elliott, and Paige (Colton) Rogers; and four delightful great-grandchildren, Ethan and Elliot Atkinson and Weston and Jackson Elliott.

Besides my husband and daughter, I was preceded in death by my parents, Robert and Viola Brown; and my son-in-law, John Kerksieck.

My life was full of so many great times and blessings that it is difficult to pass on just a few. But there are some that stand out and which I feel that I must mention. I loved the years I worked as a designer. I was able to meet and work with some really great and wonderful people. I also loved working in my church, the time I spent in my yard, my time reading and especially getting together with all my friends. Thank You.

As my life on this earth ends and yours continues, I pray you have or will have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. For he is the only one who can truly give you comfort, peace, love and everlasting life while also helping you through the difficult times of life.

To my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, I want you to know that I love each and every one of you deeply and that you have made my earthly life worth living. Words cannot express what you have meant to me, and I thank you so much for being part of my life. To all my friends, thank you for the companionship and the good times.

With that, I wish you all the best of times and things while you remain here on this earth.

With love to all,

Nellie
