Matthew Ryan Greenhill, 22, of Stuttgart, passed away peacefully at home on May 22, 2026.
Matthew was born on March 18, 2004, to Danny Jr. and Heather Greenhill. He was a devoted Christian whose faith, kindness, and unwavering positivity touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Matthew had a heart of gold and served as an inspiration to many through the strength and courage he displayed during the challenges he faced after beginning to lose his vision at the age of 10.
Despite his struggles, Matthew never allowed adversity to define him. His joyful spirit, encouraging attitude, and remarkable resilience were evident in every aspect of his life. He had an incredible sense of humor and loved making others laugh. He also found great joy in listening to music, which brought comfort and happiness throughout his life.
Matthew attended Arkansas School for the Deaf and Blind during his final years of high school, where he formed special friendships and continued to inspire those around him. He graduated in 2025 as Valedictorian. At the time of his passing, he was attending World Services for the Blind, where he was learning valuable life skills and continuing to pursue independence with determination and grace.
Matthew was a devout member of The Lighthouse Church. He will be remembered for his strong faith, loving heart, contagious positivity, and the light he brought into the lives of others. Matthew’s family finds peace in knowing that after many years of darkness, he has now seen the ultimate light.
He is survived by his loving parents Danny Jr. and Heather Greenhill; his grandparents, Bessie Duch, Deborah Marchand (Charles), Danny Greenhill Sr. (Shirley); aunts and uncles: Ralph Smith (Jane), Maris Cason (Mike), Brian Smith, Robert Marchand (Katherine); bonus aunts and uncles: Chris Duch (Amy), Mark Duch (Shelley), Amanda Duch Moore (John); cousins and bonus cousins: Lucy Raper (Ray), Chase Smith (Emily), Drew Cason (Emily), Jamie Cason (Mark), Scott Cason (Krista), Riley Way (Dylan), Maci Smith, Garrett Duch, Gunner Duch, Connor Duch, Madeline Duch, Malcolm Moore, Andrew Moore, Sarah Wallace Moore; special friends, Lucas Harris, Dallas Cathey, Sadie Huff; along with many other family members, friends, classmates, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing him. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ralph Smith Sr. and Donnie Duch.
Visitation is from 10- 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at First Baptist Church, 2115 South Prairie, Stuttgart with Celebration of Life immediately following. A private burial service will be held for the family at a later time.
