Mary Helen Black, 91, of Stuttgart, widow of James Elton Black Sr., passed away Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026, at Crestpark.

Mrs. Black was born Feb. 14, 1935, in Stuttgart to Andrew and Alliene Brasko. She was a 1952 graduate of Stuttgart High School and was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She also worked for 18 years at Majestic Dress Shop and was a member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Kyler Counce.

Survivors are three children, Jimmy (Denise) Black of DeWitt and Larry (Kim) Black and Nancy (Sammy) Reeves, all of Stuttgart; five grandchildren, Andrea (Scott) Champlin, Brandon Black, Kaitlin (Teddie) Hamilton, Tyler (Laci) Black and Kortney (Chris) Counce; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at Turpin Funeral Home with funeral services, officiated by Rev. Laura Todd, following at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery.

Her family requests memorials be made to Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, 803 S. Grand Ave., Stuttgart, Ark. 72160.
