Martha Jean Spurlock

Martha Jean Spurlock, 98, of Stuttgart, Ark., passed away Friday, June 12, 2026, at Crestpark in Stuttgart.

Mrs. Spurlock was born Feb. 4, 1928, in Chicot County, Arkansas, to Robert Daniel and Mildred VanNess Harrison. She was a minister’s wife to her first husband, Max Ecke Jr., who passed away in 1992, and was a homemaker. She married her second husband, Thomas Calvin Spurlock in 1994. She enjoyed playing Bridge and Pokeno with her card groups, was a Tupperware dealer and, most of all, loved entertaining in her home, especially during Christmas holidays.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Daniel Harrison Jr. and Wesley VanNess Harrison Sr.; and daughter-in-law, Sharon Spurlock.

Survivors are her step-son, Thomas Calvin Spurlock Jr. of Dermott, Ark.; granddaughter, Nicole (Jamie) Branson and their daughter Abigail of Stuttgart; grandson, Tres (Mirjana) and their son Chase of Naples, Fla.; and sister Clarissa Delaney.

Cremation services were offered through Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
