Lois Virginia Stubblefield passed away on October 22, 2026, at Crestpark in DeWitt, Arkansas. She was born on July 29, 1935 in Clarendon, Arkansas to James and Arnita Hayes.
Lois married Lester Stubblefield on August 11, 1950. Together they built a life of love and faith, sharing 72 years of marriage. Their legacy of love will live on through the generations of their family.
Lois dedicated many years of service to Stuttgart Public Schools, working in the cafeteria until her retirement. She was a faithful and devoted member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Casscoe. She had a special love for children and served as Vacation Bible School director for 40 years. Her love for the Lord and her desire to see children come to know him led her to begin a bus ministry, through which she brought countless children from the community to church. She had a heart for sharing God’s love with others, and her dedication to serving the Lord touched many lives throughout the years.
She cherished spending time with her family and enjoyed cooking for them. She was also unofficially known as the best coconut pie makers around, a title she earned with every pie she made.
Lois is proceeded in death by her parents, James and Arnita Hayes; her husband of 72 years, Lester Stubblefield; her two brothers, Johnny and Gene Hayes; and three sisters, Maxine Matthews, Emma Jean Ivy, and Betty Hill.
She is survived by her children, Billy Dean (Becky) Stubblefield of Casscoe, Roger (Pam) Stubblefield of Clarendon, Steve (Vicki) Stubblefield of Casscoe, and Carol (Harvey) Garrett of Casscoe; her grandchildren, Matt (Hannah) Stubblefield of DeWitt, Beth (Carl) Munger of Casscoe, Shane Stubblefield of Casscoe, Jamie (Timothy) Sturch of Humphrey, Jill Stubblefield of Stuttgart, and CleAnn (Jeremy) Brown of Clarendon; her great-grandchildren, Gage (Carlee) Currie, Kristen Cazer, Carlie (Caleb) Price, Makena Munger, Trey Munger, Maxee Stubblefield, Noah, Elijah, and Ellie Kate Simpson, and Blaine Brown; four great-great grandchildren, Milam Davis, Wrenley and Wesley Price, and Savvy Currie; and her two sisters, Diane Crosby of Clarendon, and Marjie Cox of New Jersey.
