Joe L. Helms

Joe L. Helms, 71, of Humphrey passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at his home on his and his wife’s 48th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Helms was born Sept. 27, 1954, in Stuttgart to Edward and Elizabeth Helms. He was a farm laborer and retired from Producer’s as a parboil mill supervisor. He enjoyed tinkering with lawnmowers and other machinery in his garage.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Helms; and sisters, Vonna May, Osie May, Melva, Peggy and Nancy.

Survivors are his wife, Judy Helms; sons, Donnie Gill and Tracy (Sherry) James, all of Humphrey; and several nieces and nephews.
