Joe Boyd

Joe Boyd Pagan, 80, of McCrory, Ark., passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Woodruff County Health Center.

Mr. Pagan was born Aug. 3, 1945, in El Dorado, Ark., to Clifton and Carrie Burns Pagan who preceded him in death. He was employed by Southwestern Bell in several different positions retiring after 38 years as a computer specialist. He was a member of First Baptist Church at Stuttgart.

Survivors are his son, Jody Pagan and his wife Eden of Carlisle; two grandchildren, Hunter and Alexis Pagan of Carlisle; and sister, Sarah Burson, her husband Jerry and their son Stacy of Strong, Ark.

As a father, Joe spent his time teaching his son Jody to hunt, fish, and farm. They enjoyed countless hours at the old homeplace laughing and hunting right off that back porch.

Joe was especially close to his aging mother Carrie Pagan, traveling daily to visit her at the nursing home for four years in El Dorado, Ark.

His grandkids, Hunter and Alexis, were two of his biggest joys and attended all the events they participated in through the years.

The holidays were also special to him, and he enjoyed spending them with his extended family, Mike Gayle and Brent Bender.

He also enjoyed a quiet and respectful relationship with Jody's mother Sissy Pagan.

Joe was also an incredible father-in-law to Eden and he loved her dearly.

Funeral services, officiated by Dr. Sam Roberts and Dr. Melvin York, will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 30, at Des Arc First Baptist Church with burial following in Lakeside Cemetery in Des Arc by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
