James Larry Grissom

James Larry Grissom, 60, of Stuttgart passed away Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, following an extended illness.

Larry was born July 5, 1963, in DeWitt to James Raymond and Mildred Juanita McKinney Grissom. He was a graduate of DeWitt High School and was a 29-year employee at Lennox as a run test operator. He attended Southside Baptist Church. Larry loved the outdoors, especially gardening, fishing and riding the back roads. But his biggest love was “his” Mary, his kids and especially his grandkids.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Hopkins; and the family’s 11-year-old canine companion, Avery Jane.

Survivors are his wife of 40 years, Mary Crawford Grissom; children, Candice Rollins and husband Brent, Carrie Grissom and Hunter Grissom and fiancé Kelly; all of Stuttgart; brother, Jason Grissom of Clinton; sister, Sonya Grissom Mannis of Stuttgart; and grandchildren, Kadence Grissom, Evie Rollins, Gracelyn Grissom, Isabella Grissom and one on the way.

Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Gregg Greenway, at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with burial following in Shady Grove Cemetery near Clarendon.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Monday at Turpin Funeral Home.
