James El Herring

James El Herring, 59, of Casscoe, Arkansas, passed away on April 8, 2025.

James enjoyed the open road, traveling across the country for more than 30 years. He could fill a room with his sense of laughter and make us smile, even on those difficult days. James was loved beyond what he could comprehend because a family’s love has no boundaries, and now peace is on his side.

James will be loved and remembered by Andrew McGowan (son), Lauren McGowan (daughter-in-law), and Layne, Lizzie, Lilly, and Layton McGowan (grandchildren) of Humnoke, AR; Abby McGowan (daughter), Makenly Garner and Ryker Martin (grandchildren) of Dexter, MO; Julia Ann Quandt (mother), Lori Ann Cox (sister), and Kadin Michael Cox (nephew) of Belton, TX; Carol Cloud Jacobs (aunt), Donnie Jacobs (uncle), and Curtis Cloud Jacobs (cousin) of Casscoe, AR; and Lisa Quandt Evans (stepsister) of Pine Bluff, AR.

James now joins loved ones who passed before him: his father, Elbert Herring Jr. (father); Mark Anthony Herring (brother); Inez Cloud (grandmother) and James Leo Cloud (grandfather) of Casscoe, AR; El and Eunice Herring (grandparents) of Humnoke, AR; and Fred J. Quandt (step-father), of Heber Springs, AR.

James’s life will be celebrated privately with family and friends at a later time.
