Ernestine Holcomb Boston of Humnoke took her heavenly flight to be with her Lord on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024. She was born Oct. 15, 1943, in Des Ark, Ark., to Manuel (Dad) Holcomb and Mable Griffin Holcomb.
Ernestine was a nurse for many years, retiring in 2014. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, her cats and dogs and growing flowers. She loved her family and enjoyed being with them. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but most of all she loved her Lord, her church and church family. She enjoyed people never meeting a stranger and always had a kind word and a helping hand for everyone. She could always find something good to say about everyone. On Sundays after church, she would always bring her grandchildren and all their friends home with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl (Elbo) Boston; two sons, Carl Glenn Boston and Thomas Edward Boston; a daughter-in-law, Sonja Boston; and a grandson, Rex Boston.
Survivors are her daughter, Carol Jean Rockwell and Ricky of Humnoke; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Boston of Stuttgart; brother, Manuel Holcomb and Mary of Carlisle; brother-in-law, Gene Boston and Ginger of Texas; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Boston of Humphrey and Shirley Sooter of Greers Ferry; special cousin, Betty Dudley; niece, Minnie Carpenter; 15 grandchildren, Samantha Boston, Sherrie and Randy Rankin, Jill and David Massy, Clayton and Brittany Rockwell, Heather and Chris Simpson, Carl (CJ) and Maribell Boston, Katie and Nick Bishop, Joshua Boston and Jared Boston; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
