Elmer Frederick Seidenschwarz, Jr. of Stuttgart died at his home Sunday, July 14, 2024.
He was born April 11, 1930, in Stuttgart Elmer Seidenschwarz Sr. and Adeline Lewis Smith Seidenschwarz. He grew up and attended school in the Fairmount Community. After graduation from Stuttgart High School, he attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. From there he enlisted in the U.S. Army stationed in Korea. He was happy to get back to Fairmount to farm with his father. Farming was his vocation.
He married Estelle Gunnell from the Shiloh community. They were devoted parents to three daughters, Dawn, Amy and Gena. After farming he worked at the Stuttgart Municipal Airport for 20 years.
He enjoyed serving in the Fairmount Ruritan Club and Farm Bureau where he served on the Board of Directors. He was a Christian man who understood kindness. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, choir member and Sunday school teacher.
He was blessed with curiosity and was always concerned about animal welfare and his life was filled with wonderful cats and dogs.
Survivors are three daughters, Dawn Seidenschwarz (Bill Hollaway) of Nashville, Tenn., Amy Seidenschwarz (Randy Moore) of Northfield, MN, and Gena Seidenschwarz (Carl Anderson) of Stuttgart; two grandchildren, Neil Moore and Lily Moore of Northfield.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Turpin Funeral Home.
