Elizabeth Ann Summers

Elizabeth Ann Summers, 68, of Almyra left to be with her Lord on Aug. 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Della and June Ball of Humnoke.

She is survived by the love of her life of 35 years, James L. Summers Sr., also known to her as her “Honey-Honey”. She leaves behind two children, James L. Summers Jr. (Sarah) of Almyra and Brandy Garner (Dietrich) of North Little Rock; two sisters, Madeline Lucy of Humnoke and Angie Howard (Ricky) of Vilonia; three grandchildren, Tyler Summers (Abby) of Humphrey, Madison Simpson (Spencer) of Almyra and Madison Holland of Stuttgart; and two adorable great-grandchildren, Eli and Maisie Summers. She was crazy Aunt Ann to many nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Humnoke Pentecostal Church of God since her early teens. She had several roles in the church over the years but playing the piano at Sunday morning services was the highlight.

She was a graduate of Humnoke High School Class of 1975. She continued her education in computer programming in Kansas City, Mo. When she returned to Arkansas, she began her first and only job at Riceland Foods where she retired after 45 years of service. She was a very unique person with very interesting hobbies. She enjoyed traveling with James, especially out West, genealogy, collecting foreign currency, photography, writing letters and cards and hunting. She was the biggest fan of Smokey and the Bandit, so much so she even had the black Trans Am. When she entered a home or office she would always say “Knock, knock, it’s Ann”….we joked and wondered if she said that when she got to the Pearly Gates of Heaven.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at Humnoke Pentecostal Church of God with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Flynn Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
