Earl F. George

Earl F. George, 86, a lifelong resident of Stuttgart, passed away in November 2025. Earl was born on November 12, 1939, to Charles and MayBelle George on the family farm. He attended Staley Community School before joining his father in the farming life he loved so dearly.

Earl was a devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and proudly served in the Arkansas National Guard. His unit made history when they were federalized to protect the Little Rock Nine during the integration of Central High School—an honor he carried with quiet pride throughout his life.

Earl was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Linda Louise Wittman George; his children, Kenneth Earl George and Kimberly Ann George Brennan; his parents; and his siblings, Betty Jo Juhl and Charles Edward (“Sonny”) George.

He is survived by his daughters, Kathy George Ellis (Jim) of Fairhope, Alabama, and Kerry George Knowlton of Stuttgart. Earl leaves behind grandchildren Will Knowlton (Chelsea), Brandi Knowlton, James Ellis, Joseph Ellis (Samantha), and step-granddaughter Tiffany Ellis Hammond (Malik); as well as great-grandchildren Gavin Carter, Wittman Ellis, Stella, Vivian, Madeline, and Josephine Knowlton, and Sophia, Gabe, and Holly Hammond.

Earl also leaves behind his “livestock,” along with his dear friend and companion, Brenda Laird, whose presence brought comfort and joy to his later years.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Turpin Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Lone Tree Cemetery.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Stuttgart High School FFA or the Museum of the Grand Prairie, causes close to Earl’s heart.
