Charlene “Janie” Weaver, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and the unwavering matriarch of her family, passed away peacefully in her home on December 1, 2025. She was born on February 17, 1936, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Herbert and Grace Jane Cable where her remarkable life first began. She was raised primarily by her grandparents, Herman and Beuna Williams.
Janie’s life took a beautiful turn when she met the love of her life, Clarence Edward Weaver. The two married in 1953, beginning a lifelong partnership. After their marriage, she followed him to Stuttgart, Arkansas, where they built a life rooted in family values and the steadfast traditions of farm life. Together, they raised five children, passing on their deep appreciation for the land, a compassion for animals, and a fierce, enduring love for family.
A lifelong animal lover, Janie cherished her horses and dogs. She thoroughly enjoyed her years spent owning horses and participating in horse shows with her children. She not only cared for her own animals but for countless others as well, owning and operating her dog grooming and boarding business for many years. There, she lovingly tended to other people’s fur babies as if they were her own. Her daughter, Joy, and her granddaughters, Brooke and Britni, shared this passion with her working alongside her, helping care for the animals, and creating beautiful memories of days spent together in the place where Janie’s love shone brightest.
Janie also deeply adored her mother-in-law, Mame Weaver, who played a profound role in her life and was instrumental in introducing her to the Catholic faith. Through Mame’s example and guidance, Janie developed a strong love for God and her church. Her faith carried her through the many challenges of life, giving her strength, comfort, and peace. She died knowing she was a child of God - faithful, fearless, and ready to be reunited with those she loved.
In her later years, Janie lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended school programs, sports events, and special occasions—always making the effort to be present, even when it was difficult. She loved when they visited the farm, taking them for golf cart rides, filling the air with laughter, and, of course, reaching into her cookie jar for treats that made every visit sweeter.
Janie was the heart and anchor of her home, the one who held everyone together through both joys and hardships. Her strength, guidance, and unwavering devotion shaped generations and created a foundation her family will forever stand upon.
Janie is survived by her sons, Clarence Edward (Sue) Weaver Jr., Richard Weaver, Stephen (Terri) Weaver and Wink (Carey) Weaver. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brooke (Gary) Reeves, Britni (Colton) Rutherford, Wade (Paige) Weaver, Rip Weaver, Whitney (Drew) Hearne, Chance Weaver, Alex (Graci Ella) Weaver, and Jordan Bowen, as well as the many great-grandchildren she cherished so deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; her husband, Clarence Edward Weaver; her daughter, Joy Weaver; and her dear friend and sister-in-law, Patsy Weaver, who was one of her closest companions.
Janie will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her strength, kindness, and fierce love for her family. Her legacy of devotion, faith, and unity lives on in every life she touched.
