Carrol Rickey Hughes, 73, of Humphrey passed away Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, at his home.
Rick was born July 5, 1951, in Des Arc to Lem Hughes Sr. and Cassie Petty Hughes. He retired after 31 years from GTE as a cable splicer. He was also known as a prankster who loved playing jokes on his fellow coworkers who the same. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking, but most of all, loved spoiling his grandkids. He was a member of Bayou Meto Assembly of God and Robert E. Lee Masonic Lodge #313 in Altheimer.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lem Hughes Jr.
Survivors are his wife of more than 50 years, Linda Hughes; two sons, Kris (Wendy) Hughes and Kyle (Candi) Hughes, all of Humphrey; and three grandchildren, Colton Lynn Hughes, Skilar Storm Hughes and Kaden Kristopher Hughes.
A memorial service, officiated by Bro. Wallace Simmons, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Bayou Meto Assembly of God Church, 1695 Alcorn-Gill Rd., Humphrey, Ark.
Cremation services were handled by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
