Betty Payer Oliver, age 76, of Stuttgart, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home on January 11, 2024, surrounded by her family after a valiant 17-year battle with breast cancer. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Betty exemplified incredible resilience, unwavering faith, and utmost love and care for others. Her adoration of her family was truly exceptional, evident in every aspect of her life. She dedicated her boundless energy to overseeing the family farm while nurturing her loving relationship with her husband, Gary, and wholeheartedly supporting her daughters, Natalie and Gretchen, and her cherished granddaughter, Mary Oliver.
She possessed a profound devotion to the divine and held her family in the highest regard. Moreover, she delighted in embarking on journeys, ranging from the southwestern region, particularly Santa Fe, to destinations abroad, in the company of her closest and dearest friend (Ann Brown) and her daughters. She was unrivaled in her role as a travel companion. Her many accomplishments and unique sense of style, evident in her extensive collection of footwear and southwestern-inspired adornments, leave an indelible void that cannot be filled by any other individual.
Betty was preceded in her death by her beloved parents, Ernest and Bernice Payer. She is survived by her sister, Erna Lou Kirkemier, as well as her devoted spouse, Gary William Oliver, and her loving daughters, Natalie Oliver Woods (Lee Woods) and their daughter Mary Oliver Woods of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Gretchen Oliver of Auburn, Alabama.
There will be a celebration of life announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to CATRI (a not-for-profit, comprehensive cancer center) https://www.carti.com/foundation/donate-now/
