Betty J. Dudley, 90, of Russellville, formerly of Stuttgart, went to be with the Lord Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Russellville Nursing and Rehab 46 years after the death of her husband, Lewis Dudley at age 46.
Mrs. Dudley was born June 10, 1935, in Alford, Fla., to John and Jessie Morris. After their marriage, she and her husband owned Dudley’s Machine Shop in DeWitt. She was a licensed tax preparer working out of her home and was bookkeeper for Barton Lumber Co. After a span of time, she relocated to Wewahitchka, Fla., where she owned and operated a Daylight Doughnut shop. Her last employment was in the cash office for Wal-Mart in West Tennessee. She was a member of Jesus Name Church of Christ and assisted many families as a midwife for over 25 years.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Morris; brothers, John “Jr.” Morris and Fred Morris; special cousin, Ernestine Boston; and many other friends and family.
Survivors are daughter, Joyce (Kris) Kovarik of Lexington, Tenn.; sons, Greg (Stacy) Dudley of Russellville and Dewayne Dudley of Illinois; grandson, Kyle (Michal) Kovarik of Lexington; granddaughter, Abigal Kathleen Ledford of Russellville; and an honorary son, Manuel Holcomb of Carlisle.
Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, at Turpin Funeral Home with funeral services, officiated by Dr. John Scheel, following at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery.
