Albert Thomas Shannahan

Albert Thomas Shannahan, son, brother, husband, dad, grandpa and friend who carried many names, but the most important good and faithful servant, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026, at his home.

He was born Dec. 20, 1955, in Darby, Penn., to Frank and Mary Luebker Shannahan who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his in-laws, John and Margaret Scherm.

Albert grew up in the north, between Pennsylvania and Michigan surrounded by loving parents and siblings. Over the years he was introduced to Arkansas and began falling in love. As a young man he came here to start a life and never looked back. He met many people and left an impact at a young age.

When he fell in love with Monica he gained a son. A few years later they added a daughter. Albert loved his kids, grandkids and wife with every part of him. Through their 35 years of marriage, they fought their fair share of trials and tribulations. BUT GOD!! Over the last 15 years Albert allowed God to redeem his life and watched the lives of his family be restored. He has spent his time giving back. He took the call of making disciples very serious. He left a legacy behind that will be hard to match. His passion for recovery shined bright. He met people right where they were and loved them like Jesus. Whether you crossed paths with him before Jesus, or after you were sure to have made a friend.

James 1:2. Consider it pure joy brother and sisters when you face trials of many kinds. He has been made whole, to God be the glory.

Survivors are his wife, Monica Shannahan; son, Joshua (Michelle) Cox and their children, Marleigh, Braelyn and Aiden of Bauxite; daughter, Abby (Robert) Bailey and their children, Hailey (Munchkin), Raylei (Bull), Gracie (Captain), Grayson, Lyam and Nehemiah of Bald Knob; brothers, Joseph (Joy) Shannahan of Virginia and Michael (Denise) Shannahan of Texas; and sisters, Barbara Shannahan of North Carolina, Joan Shannahan of Florida and Maureen (Brian) Connor of New Zealand.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
