Mr. Brown was born July 10, 1939, in Lonoke County to Ulys and Kathleen Jones Brown. An Army veteran, he retired from Riceland Foods where he was director of special projects. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Curtis Edwards.

Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Jean Tipton Brown; two daughters, Jan (Carl) Borchert of Stuttgart and Cindy (Jeryl) Jones and of Humnoke; six grandchildren, Dilan (Stephanie) Ross of Springdale, Jamie Craig and Taylor Borchert of Stuttgart, Jacob and Rachel Jones of Humnoke and Megan Jones of Lonoke; two great-grandchildren, Myleigh Estes and Charlotte Ross; and siblings, Terry (Diane) Brown, Linda (Jim) Tyler and Cathy Edwards of Humnoke, Douglas (Sandy) Brown of Shenandoah, VA, Virgina (Monty) Burris of Almyra and Evelyn (Billy) Hauk of Lonoke.

Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Mitch Dulaney, are 2 p.m. Friday at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in Flynn Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
